Dear friends,

I hope you will be able to attend the 29^th Annual Congress of our Society in Heidelberg, that will be held in Heidelberg, sept.2-4.

The scientific committee has met in Amsterdam on 25 May and has 119 papers that have been introduced for oral and/or poster presentation.

The final program will be put together by V.Heppert and C.Wagner, our two congress chairmen.

Out of the abstracts with the highest score, 3 presentations will be chosen on the last day of the congress for the Biomet Award (2 scientific studies and 1 clinical study).

In 2009 our first travelling fellowship was organized. The three travelling fellows:

Hans Hendriks (Nl), Jonathan Page (UK) and Lazaros Poultsides (Gr)

will report about their trip during the congress. Info about future travelling fellowships will also be given.

Please do not forget the General Assemblee meeting on Friday (5:30-7:00 PM).

The meeting of the board will take place on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.

We hope to meet you in Heidelberg.

PLEASE NOTE: THE DEADLINE FOR YOUR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS POSTPONED UNTIL APRIL 11, 2010!

The congress registration is now available, early registration deadline is June 14, 2010. Late registration is still possible afterwards.

Please find below information regarding the EBJIS Traveling Fellowship:

• 3 fellows will finally be selected according to their CVs.
• There will not be an accompanying board member.
• The candidate has to be a EBJIS member or at least a candidate to become member at the time of application for the fellowship.
   
• The fellows will visit 3 centres : – Heidelberg (trauma + science)
                          - Milano (prosthesis)
                          - Maastricht (topic to be decided upon)
   
• Total time is 2 weeks (max).
   
• Finances: money raised up to date  6000 euros & EBJIS is continuing the efforts to raise it up to 9000 E.
   
• An assessment committee will examine the applicartions & evaluate the candidates the final selection will take place at Scientific Committee meeting in Vienna in April 09.
   
• The fellows will be notified to start their fellowship at the Vienna congress in September 2009.
