EBJIS septic arthritis guideline project

In a multinational cooperation we are working on an evidence-based practice guideline in a user-friendly format for clinical practice.

Nine workgroups are currently reporting and evaluating the scientific literature focusing on the following topics:

• Diagnostic work-up and criteria
• Microbiological methods
• Initial surgical treatment
• Initial antimicrobial treatment
• Rehabilitation and joint mobilization
• Treatment duration and evalutation
• Post-arthroscopic infection
• Uncommon microbiology
• Paediatric arthritis

After a few rounds of internal review, we expect to send the final guideline draft to the EBJIS members for further comments by 1st of April, 2021.
